Microsoft opens up more places on Xbox LIVE Update beta

When Microsoft announced the launch of the Public Beta for its next Xbox LIVE update back in July, it took just a couple of hours for all of the available places to be snapped up by eager gamers. Unsurprisingly, there were many disappointed applicants who missed out on the prospect of experiencing the next Xbox 360 Dashboard before anyone else.

But there is good news! Major Nelson (aka Microsoft’s Larry Hryb) announced today that a limited number of spots is now available for more applicants to join the beta programme.

The features of the new dashboard include:

  • The new Internet Explorer browser for Xbox
  • Recommendations and ratings
  • Pinning and favorites
  • Enhanced search and discovery
  • Voice search (in certain markets)

You can try to sign up right now via Microsoft Connect. Remember that if you will be required to accept a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to ensure that you keep everything hush-hush and avoid blabbing and blogging about it.

So, what are you waiting for? Get on the beta now – and good luck!
