Microsoft, Qualcomm Make Deal on Wireless

Microsoft Corp. and Qualcomm Inc. agreed to work together to share more information about their products with wireless equipment makers to cut development time and expense. Microsoft, the world"s biggest software maker, will also handle development of some software previously left to equipment makers, the companies said in a statement Thursday.

San Diego-based Qualcomm, the No. 2 maker of wireless chips, will offer more information on how its products work with Microsoft"s Windows Mobile operating system, John Starkweather, Microsoft group product manager, said in an interview.
