Microsoft"s gaming segment has been going through some rapid changes since the appointment of its new CEO, Asha Sharma. Following a Game Pass price drop, an updated name, and more leadership changes, now the Xbox team is looking to get more feedback from its community with a new feedback-collecting system.
The new hub aimed at doing this is named "XBOX Player Voice." While sounding like a singing competition at first, this is described as a new place for Xbox players to share feedback and track the process as it goes through the Xbox development teams" eyes.
"When you submit feedback, teams review and organize it so it can be understood and considered alongside other work. In some cases, ideas will move forward," says the company, explaining the new process. "In others, they may take longer to implement or may not be something we can act on. When there are meaningful updates, we’ll share them."
As expected, not every piece of feedback will get responses or a feature update from Microsoft.
The Xbox Player Voice system is replacing the Xbox Cloud Gaming feedback portal. Microsoft says this is meant to complement other offerings like the Insider Hub that"s focused on testing and bugs, the official support forums for help and troubleshooting, and the company"s collection of social channels.
"We’re starting small and will learn as we go," adds the company. "That means the experience will evolve over time as we see what’s useful and where we can do better. This is a step toward making that process more open and easier to follow."
The new Player Voice hub is already filling up with feedback from the Xbox community. Some of the most upvoted suggestions include the return of exclusives to the platform, restarting the Backward Compatibility program, and making online multiplayer a free affair. As the program has just launched, Microsoft representatives haven"t gotten around to replying to any of the suggestions just yet.
