More pictures of Huawei Ascend W1 show white version

We have seen leaked images of the upcoming Huawei Ascend W1 smartphone show up on the Internet in the past few months. However, all of them have been of a device that has a black front and cyan rear. Today, more images of the Windows Phone 8-based smartphone have found their way to the web, but this time revealing a new version.

WPCentral.com reports that the newly leaked images came from the Twitter account of a Huawei employee. The specific posts that show the Ascend W1 have since been deleted, but not before they were copied and posted on the site.

As you can see, the blue-cyan version is next to a previously unrevealed version of the smartphone, which has a white front and - judging by the way the rear colour panel wraps to the front at the base of the device - a white rear too. This would seem to be consistent with other Windows Phone 8-based companies such as HTC and Nokia, who have offered multiple colors for their own new devices.

Huawei is expected to officially announce the Ascend W1 sometime in early 2013. There is speculation that the reveal will be made during CES 2013, which is being held in Las Vegas in early January. While it will likely be sold first in Asia, there"s no word on if it will be sold in the US.
