New Windows Phone wedding battle ad gets behind-the-scenes clip

Microsoft"s newest Windows Phone television commercial is perhaps its best yet, as it depicts an all-out brawl at a wedding between Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy users while the two servers calming take photos with their Windows Phone 8-based Nokia Lumia 920 smartphones.

Today, Microsoft released a brief behind-the-scenes video on YouTube that shows part of the making of this week"s new commercial. The ad was directed by Roman Coppola, the son of famed movie director Francis Ford Coppola. Roman is best known for directing music videos for bands such as Green Day, Moby, The Strokes, Phoenix and others. His latest effort is the 2013 feature film "A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III," a comedy starring Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman that Coppola wrote and directed.

As far as the new Windows Phone TV ad, Coppola wanted an epic feel to the commercial with lots of stunts and action. We can see actors flying on wires and general mayhem as the wedding guests fight over which smartphone is better. The new clip also shows a few outtakes as actors mess up their lines and even some storyboards that showed just how Coppola envisioned the ad to look before filming started.
