Nvidia has released a new graphics driver under version 581.42 WHQL. Today"s release brings DLSS 4 support and optimizations for two games: Battlefield 6, which will be released on October 10, and FBC: Firebreak, which was released in June and is currently available on Steam during the Autumn sale.
As usual, the update introduces several gaming fixes:
- Battlefield 2042: Increased GPU Crashing when calling CDXGISwapChain::Present()
- Forza Horizon 4: light flickering on RTX 50 series
- Planet Coaster 2: crashes after driver update
- FPS significantly drops when using Smooth Motion with RivaTuner FPS cap
- R580 drivers are causing stuttering in games using the GODOT engine
And here is the list of general fixes:
- Adobe After Effects / Premiere Pro: crash on launch when Smooth Motion is enabled globally
- Adobe Premiere Pro: Some system configurations can freeze during export using hardware encoding
- When Video Noise Reduction is enabled, the chroma is grayscale
If you want to upgrade your graphics driver to the latest version, beware of the following known bugs:
- Counter-Strike 2: Text may appear slightly distorted when in-game resolution is lower than the native resolution of the display
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: Light flickering after driver update on some system configurations
Nvidia 581.42 WHQL is available on 64-bit systems with Windows 10 and 11 and the following graphics cards:
