Nvidia partners with DreamCatcher

Developer names GeForce FX the preferred GPU of its upcoming horror shooter Painkiller.

Nvidia announced its latest hardware/software collaboration today. The chipmaker will partner with DreamCatcher to add Painkiller, the publisher"s upcoming shooter, to its "The Way It"s Meant to Be Played" program. Under the terms of the deal, DreamCatcher will optimize its game for use with the GeForce FX graphics processor, while Nvidia will assist in the development and promotion of the game. Other games in the program include XIII, Savage, Breed, and Deus Ex: Invisible War.

Due in Q2 2004 for the PC and Xbox, Painkiller chronicles the very bloody struggle of a gun-toting enforcer as he tries to eradicate another batch of undead monsters. Packed with rag-doll effects, courtesy of the Havok physics engine, the gameplay is often intense--both action-wise and graphics-wise.
