One of AMD's 16-core Ryzen processors hits all-time low price

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X is AMD"s high-end desktop processor for the AM5 platform. It has 16 cores and 32 threads for all sorts of intensive workloads or gaming, and right now, you can get it at a new all-time low price of $499. The latest 23% discount has brought the cost of this chip to a new record low.

The Ryzen 9 9950X is based on AMD"s latest Zen 5 architecture. In its stock configuration, the chip operates at speeds of up to 5.7 GHz Max Boost. The processor is unlocked, which means compatible motherboards and cooling solutions with decent headroom can get this chip to much higher speeds.

Speaking of cooling, keep in mind that the Ryzen 9 9950X comes without one, so potential buyers must consider some good cooling solutions to match the chip and its 170W TDP. AMD recommends using an AIO for the most effective heat dissipation under heavy loads.

The processor has 64 MB of L3 cache (non-stacked), PCIe Gen 5, and supports DDR5-5600 memory. It also has integrated Radeon graphics, which allows systems based on the Ryzen 9 9950X to operate without a discrete graphics card, but do not expect much from this dual-core iGPU.

Here is a brief rundown of the Ryzen 9 9950X specs:
