OnePlus 5T to get Android 8.0 Oreo beta in the coming days

OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 5T earlier this year running Android Nougat as its operating system out of the box. During the launch event, the company confirmed it will start rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo beta for the OnePlus 5T by the end of the year.

After rolling out the OxygenOS 5.0 based on Android Oreo for the OnePlus 5, the company is ready to start the Android 8.0 Oreo Open Beta for the OnePlus 5T, at least in Germany. The official OnePlus Germany Twitter account announced that the Open Beta program for Android Oreo will soon commence for the OnePlus 5T.

Weihnachten ist zwar vorbei, aber wir haben trotzdem ein Geschenk für euch! ;) Wie wär"s mit der Open Beta für Android Oreo auf dem #OnePlus5T! pic.twitter.com/LvKR3A6duC

The tweet translates to, "Christmas is over, but we still have a present for you! ;) How about the Open Beta for Android Oreo on the #OnePlus5T!". Unfortunately, the tweet doesn"t hint when the update will be available for the handset, but with its promised deadline expiring at the end of the month the company should be delivering it in the next few days, not only in Germany but in other markets as well.

There"s nothing on the OnePlus 5T downloads page at the time of writing, but users interested in trying out the beta should keep an eye out if they want to test the early builds.

In the meantime, you can check out our hands-on impressions of the OnePlus 5T if you plan to purchase one.
