Origin PC taking orders for Windows 8 PCs

If you absolutely, positively, have to be one of the first to get a PC that has Windows 8 installed inside but don"t want to go to a physical store, you can go ahead and pre-order a Windows 8 PC right now from the folks at Origin PC.

The company announced today that people who want to get a Windows 8-based PC from them that will ship to them on the Windows 8 launch date on October 26th, they can now configure and order their PC now from their website. Origin will go ahead and start building the Windows 8-based desktop or notebook well ahead of the launch date.

In a statement, Origin PC CEO Kevin Wasielewski said:

Big launches are typically structured in a way where consumers have to wait for a specific date and then suffer through hassles including long lines, delays, and/or backlogs. ORIGIN PC is offering this fantastic opportunity for our customers to avoid these hassles by placing custom PC orders with Windows 8 today and being one of the first to start shipping on October 26th.

It"s likely that other PC makers will also offer to start building Windows 8-based products before the official October 26th launch date.
