Pixel and Nexus owners reporting issues with fingerprint reader after Android 7.1.2 update

Owning a Google Pixel or Nexus product pretty much guarantees you"ll be getting the latest build of Android before any other device. Unfortunately, it appears that the latest update, Android 7.1.2, has caused the fingerprint reader on some devices to stop working.

According to the folks responding on the Google"s forums, this is a problem that is appearing on the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5, and Nexus 6P. Google does not currently have a solution, but is asking those that are affected to post some more details about this bug. Details ike if they manually flashed the update, if they were part of the beta program, and so on.
