Pixel owners can now get Pixel 2 features on their devices

Last year, Google took everyone by surprise by introducing the Pixel and Pixel XL that offered a camera that can produce stunning results. But it isn"t all about the hardware as the firm has done quite a bit of work with the Camera app on the Pixel to gives users the best experience possible without making things overly complicated.

So it comes as no surprise that Google has upped the ante when it comes to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, improving not only the camera hardware but also the software. While we are still several weeks out from having both handsets come to retail, if you own a Pixel, you can now try out the updated Camera app from the Pixel 2 on your handset. The folks at XDA Developers have extracted the APK, giving Pixel owners a chance to experience Motion Photo, Face Retouching, and Portrait Mode. If curious, you can head to the source link below to download the app.

Those that don"t currently own a Pixel and want to try out the new photo modes found on the Pixel 2 can head to a Verizon store to get some hands-on time with the units.
