Play Sea of Thieves this week to get Halo-themed ship cosmetics

Sea of Thieves players now have the opportunity to grab some free ship cosmetic items that let them show off how much they love Halo while plundering the seas. Rare revealed today that anyone who logs in to the pirate adventure game during E3 week will get Halo-themed ship cosmetics that were built with help from 343 Industries, featuring special sails, a flag, and a figurehead.

To grab this Spartan Ship Set, all players have to do is log in and play Sea of Thieves before June 15, with the promotion available to both Xbox One and Windows 10 players whether they own the game outright or play it through Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. Getting chased by a ship sporting Master Chief holding a spear at the front will be a terrifying sight to behold indeed.

We"re proud to unveil the @Halo-inspired Spartan Ship Set, made in partnership with our friends at 343 Industries. Earn it by battling in The Arena on the E3 show floor OR by playing #SeaOfThieves at any time between now and 23:59 BST on Saturday! pic.twitter.com/GOrjvzmBzc

It seems the freebie won"t be granted immediately upon logging in, however, as Rare says the cosmetics will arrive into player ship inventories within 72 after their first play session.

Rare also revealed today that Sea of Thieves" total player count is now over 8.4 million across all Microsoft platforms, with two million of those coming after the Anniversary Update - carrying questlines, fishing, Arena and more - launched in April. Of course, this number includes players using Xbox Game Pass subscriptions to get their pirating fix as well.
