Playground Games reveals Forza Horizon 6 hardware requirements and cross-platform saves

Playground Games is getting ready to launch Forza Horizon 6 in May on PC and Xbox Series X|S (coming later to PlayStation 5). If you plan to play this game on PC, you can now check whether your system can handle the upcoming arcade racer, as Playground Games has just published official hardware requirements.

The good news is that you do not need a NASA-grade computer to run Forza Horizon 6 comfortably. The minimum hardware for 1080p 60 FPS includes some pretty old stuff, such as the GTX 1650 and the Ryzen 5 1600 (it does not even officially support Windows 11). For those who want to play on higher presets and resolutions, Playground Games recommends a minimum of RTX 3060 Ti / RX 6700 XT, two mid-range graphics cards from two generations ago. Also, you only need 16 GB of RAM, which is good news in today"s PC economy.

Scaling up to extreme presets, things rise to the RTX 4070 / RX 7900 XT and 24GB of RAM, and at the highest resolution and graphical fidelity with ray tracing, you will need the RTX 5070 Ti / RX 9070 XT, 32 GB of RAM, and an NVMe drive. Here is the complete hardware requirements overview:

Minimum Recommended Extreme Extreme RT

Another important thing worth noting about graphics presets is that the game will finally let you adjust graphics settings without restarting. In Settings, you will see examples of how different settings affect image quality so that you can find a better balance between performance and graphical fidelity.

In addition, Playground Games revealed that Forza Horizon 6 will support NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 3 and 4, and Intel XeSS 2.1. Also, expect uncapped framerate and ultrawide monitor support, ray-traced reflections and global illumination, and compatibility with the Steam Deck and Xbox ROG Ally. Finally, developers confirmed cross-save support across all platforms where the game is available.

Forza Horizon 6 is launching on May 19, 2026, with early access starting on May 15, 2026, for those who preordered the Premium Edition. You can get the game on the Microsoft Store or Steam, plus it will be available in Game Pass on consoles and PCs.
