A few months ago, Proton, a company that offers privacy-focused tools, such as VPN, mail, cloud storage, and more, released Lumo, its AI chatbot that puts privacy first. Today, Proton announced project support, allowing users to organize their chats and keep things tidier.
Each project in Lumo is an encrypted space for chats, files, tasks, and other data that gives the assistant the necessary context for productive work. Upon creating a new project, you can give it a distinct name, icon, and specific instructions. Lumo will follow each project"s guides so that you do not have to explain everything again and again.
Lumo integrates each project into your Proton Drive so that you can easily link relevant folders and files while keeping everything within Proton"s private ecosystem. The company adds that it never uses your data for AI model training, and it touts it as a strong selling point for business and users who want to make sure files and conversations are only accessible to them.
Like most of Proton"s services, Lumo and projects are available to all users, including free. However, free users are limited to only one project. If you want to use multiple projects at once, you can update to Lumo Plus, which also gets you faster response times, access to the latest models, unlimited chats, and other benefits. Just keep in mind that Lumo Plus is a separate service, which is not included in Proton Pass. Proton"s Lumo Plus is available for individual users and business customers.
