Samsung announces its new Windows 10 tablet, the Galaxy Book

Samsung held its event at Mobile World Congress 2017 today, where it announced the Galaxy Tab S3, as well as the Galaxy Book. The Book is a Windows 10 tablet, so if you thought that it would be a Surface Book-style device, you"d be mistaken.

It comes in two sizes: 10.6 and 12 inches, which will use dual-core 2.6GHz Intel Core m3 and 3.1GHz Core i5 processors, respectively. The Core i5 is fanless, so it"s the m5 model that was rebranded when Intel launched its seventh-generation chips.

Here are the full specs:

The 10.6-inch model of the Galaxy Book is a lower end model, and the company"s focus is clearly on the 12-inch variant. If you"ve got the extra money for one, you"ll want that Super AMOLED display, along with the better processor and more RAM.

This isn"t Samsung"s first Windows 10 tablet, as it released the Galaxy TabPro S last January. This one has an S Pen though, so it supports features like Air Command, a popular feature in its Galaxy Note series of devices. But since it"s Windows 10, you also get additional Windows Ink capabilities.

The devices also include Samsung Flow, which allows you to log into your PC using biometric authentication with "compatible devices", such as the fingerprint reader on your Galaxy phone.
