Samsung TVs to get Google Photos and "Memories"

Samsung and Google have partnered up to integrate Google Photos into Samsung’s AI TV lineup, starting next year. This collaboration aims to bring a cinematic, large-screen experience for personal photo and video libraries. When available, you can sign in via a Google Account to instantly sync mobile photo libraries to the TV.

Upon launch, the Samsung TV version of Google Photos will get a feature called Memories which will be available exclusively for six months. Memories displays curated stories organized by people, locations, and significant events.

Another feature that Google Photos on Samsung TVs will have is Create with AI. This feature, coming in late 2026, is powered by Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana model and allows users to use themed templates, remix art styles, or turn photos into videos. Around the same time, intelligent search and a slideshow tool that groups photos by specific topics, such as “hiking” or “Paris”, will be added.

Your photos will be integrated into Samsung’s Daily+ and Daily Board, surfacing memories contextually through the day. Google Photos will also work with Samsung’s Vision AI Companion (VAC) to enhance how memories are highlighted and displayed.

In terms of a timeline, the Memories feature is scheduled for a March 2026 release while the Create and Personalized Results are expected in the second half of 2026. Google Photos will be available next year on 2026 Samsung TV models and select older models following an OS update. The Korean firm warned that features may vary by region and model.

When this rolls out, you will finally be able to scroll through the photos and videos from your Samsung phone (or other Android or iPhone) that you have backed up with Google Photos.
