Samsung"s budget Galaxy Chromebook Go is ready for business in the US. The Wi-Fi model is the first to hit the stores while the LTE model is a few weeks away. According to the South Korean company, weighing in at 1.45 kg the Galaxy Chromebook Go is the lightest Chromebook on the market. The machine is built to withstand occasional spills and drops. It features a 180-degree hinge for maximum flexibility.
The Galaxy Chromebook Go is equipped with a 14-inch LCD screen with 1366 x 768 pixels. The display has an anti-glare coating and a peak brightness of 220 nits. The notebook is powered by Intel"s Celeron N4500 processor clocked 1.1GHz. It is fused with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB eMMC storage.
The Chromebook Go comes with an Island-type keyboard sans backlight. The notebook holds a 5,480 mAh battery, which according to Samsung lasts for up to 12 hours on a single charge. For video calls, the Chromebook Go has an HD webcam. Other features include two 1.5 W speakers, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, headphone jack, microSD card slot, two USB Type C ports, one USB 3.2 port, and TPM (Trusted Platform Module).
The Galaxy Chromebook Go is priced at $299.99 in the US. Samsung offers a buyback program that offers up to a $170 discount if you trade in your old smartphone, tablet, or PC.
