Samsung's popular T7 external SSD gets "Resurrected" as it launches with up to 4TB capacity

Starting on November 30, Samsung will begin worldwide sales of the Samsung Portable SSD T7 Resurrected, offering high-capacity configurations including 1TB, 2TB, and a massive 4TB portable SSD option. The Korean firm highlighted that the new eco-friendly external SSD has been built using responsible design choices while maintaining the robust, lightning-fast performance of the previous T7 model, all at a competitive price.

Responsibly designed with recycled aluminum

A key feature of the T7 Resurrected is its commitment to sustainability. The SSD"s body case is made from 100% recycled aluminum that is TÜV Rheinland certified. This material is responsibly sourced from scrap generated during the production of Samsung Galaxy mobile devices. Going a step further, Samsung eliminated the coloring process to showcase the aluminum"s natural finish. This innovative choice minimizes chemical use and streamlines production. Finally, the packaging uses 100% recycled paper (FSC certified) and ASA-certified soy ink, reinforcing its status as an eco-friendly external SSD.

Blazing-fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 performance

In terms of technical specifications, the T7 Resurrected delivers high-speed data transfers on the USB 3.2 Gen 2 portable drive standard, which supports speeds of up to 10Gbps. This makes it an ideal external storage drive for content creators and professionals. The promised sequential read speeds are up to 1,050 MB/s, while sequential write speeds come in at up to 1,000 MB/s. It comes in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB portable SSD varieties and maintains a credit card-sized, highly portable form factor with a lightweight design of just 72 grams.

Advanced security for your data

For users prioritizing data safety, the secure external storage drive includes AES 256-bit hardware encryption to reliably protect sensitive files. It is also physically durable, boasting drop resistance up to two meters to shield your data from physical damage. As for compatibility, the drive officially supports Windows, macOS, and Android, and can be used across PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and game consoles. It also supports Samsung Magician Software for easy management. This combination of speed, capacity, and security makes the T7 Resurrected a compelling choice for a secure external storage drive.

Samsung says that the T7 release date is set for November 30, 2025, when it will be available for purchase worldwide. Manufacturer’s suggested prices (MSRP) are set at $119.99 for the 1TB, $205.99 for the 2TB, and $378.99 for the 4TB model.
