Skype.com beta website gets redesigned

We have already posted word of Microsoft"s plans to release a "Modern" style Windows 8 app for its Skype VoIP service a few weeks ago. Now it looks like Microsoft and Skype are slowly rolling out a new website design for Skype.com that definitely has a Modern UI look and feel.

The new design for the website is showing up for some visitors of Skype.com, but not for others. We first saw the new look while checking Skype.com on a laptop, but we saw the old design when we accessed the same site on a desktop.

The new design is not restricted to the front page in this beta. It also extends to other pages, including the Skype download page which offers up a more graphical UI in selecting your version of the software. However, the support pages are still under the old layout.

Again, this new version of Skype.com is only showing up for some users at this time so if you can still see the old layout, don"t worry; it"s not a bug.

Microsoft launched its new Modern UI-based version of its own corporate website just last week and its likely we will see even more changes on the company"s sites in the future.
