Sprint rolls out 4G to more locations

Sprint, the first national carrier to deploy a 4G network, has announced a few more cities to its growing blanket of WiMax coverage. The lucky cities of New York City, Hartford, New Haven, New Brunswick, Trenton and Tampa can now all enjoy faster download and upload speeds with their 4G enabled devices.

Sprint claims that its 4G network is up to ten times faster than current 3G speeds, which will be a huge improvement for downloaders on the go. Sprint is looking to cover as much of the United States as possible before its competitors, Verizon and AT&T, deploy their upcoming 4G networks that will boast similar speeds.

4G represents the next great wave of wireless broadband, and with speeds that can match low end home cable offerings, it provides a viable alternative to dropping your home broadband. Neowin was in Las Vegas live at CES when Sprint unveiled its first 4G device which you can read about here.
