The first post-launch Xbox One game, Peggle 2, is released

Microsoft launched the Xbox One with 22 game titles on November 22nd but just in case you have already played through all of them, you may be pleased to hear that there"s a new game available to download. It"s Peggle 2, the sequel to the highly popular casual game from developer PopCap and publisher Electronic Arts.

The games store at Xbox.com is now offering Peggle 2 for purchase for $11.99, but you can also purchase and download the game directly from the Xbox One itself. Peggle 2 is a timed exclusive for Microsoft"s new console, meaning that it will also be released for other platforms after an as-yet undisclosed period of time.

Like the original Peggle that was first released for the PC in 2007, Peggle 2 gives players a set number of balls to aim and fire at a specific number of pegs on the screen in order to clear them out. There are over 120 levels in the game and there"s also a four-player Party Mode. The Xbox One"s Kinect hardware lets players move their hands and use their voice to control the aiming and firing of the balls in Peggle 2.

So far, the only other new Xbox One game that"s set for release before the end of the year is a port of the Windows Phone/Windows 8 game Halo Spartan Assault.
