They happily go out, purchase a copy of Norton or McAfee"s latest security software and that"s all there is to it. They believe they are safe, Norton/McAfee will protect them.
Phishing has increased by 20% from June to July of this year. Adware increased about 10 times in the course of less than 5 years. 3% of users can identify the difference between a "safe" site or one that can infect their computer, according to McAfee.
