Sega and Creative Assembly are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Total War with a major update to its Total War: Warhammer series. Soon, all players of the trilogy will have access to the Immortal Empires campaign and not just the Total War: Warhammer III owners.
For those who are in the dark about Immortal Empires, it is a vast campaign set in the hit fantasy universe that offers players a map that combines all regions, factions, armies, and Legendary Lords from the complete trilogy. Fans can jump in with any and all content they have for a complete adventure.
"As we celebrate 25 incredible years of Total War - and look ahead to WARHAMMER’s 10th anniversary in 2026 - we wanted to do something special. Your passion and support for this trilogy have made Immortal Empires possible, and we couldn’t be more grateful," said Creative Assembly. "Now feels like the perfect moment to open its gates and invite everyone to experience a piece of the adventure."
To enable this, the studio will be adding Total War: Warhammer III to the libraries of everyone who already own Warhammer I or II. The third game"s Realms of Chaos campaign and the 10 Legendary Lords won"t be a part of this package. However, players will be able to jump straight into Immortal Empires and The Lost God prologue campaign using the newly enabled edition, taking all their DLC content over to the new, connected experience.
A separate Upgrade Pack will be made available to get all the locked Warhammer III content as well. The developer is also making sure that players are able to purchase any DLC pack from the entire trilogy, letting them enable that in their Immortal Empires campaign seamlessly.
"For example, if you own WARHAMMER I, you can purchase DLC for WARHAMMER II and/or III and enjoy it within Immortal Empires," explained the developer. "This makes it even easier to expand and tailor the experience to your liking."
The Total War: Warhammer III Immortal Empires unlock for the entire series is happening on December 4.
