Twitter updates iOS, Android apps and user pages

Twitter is currently rolling out updates to its website and iOS and Android apps.

Twitter has launched new versions of its iOS and Android apps along with an update to user pages on its website.

User profiles have been updated to feature new header images, similar to Facebook"s user profile pages. Twitter users can upload a header image from the social network"s website or the new versions of its iOS and Android apps. In addition to the new header image features, user profiles will now also feature photo streams on Twitter"s iOS and Android apps. Photo streams will show the most recent photos users have shared below their recent tweets.

The new Twitter apps for the iPhone and Android are necessary to see the new new header image and photo streams features. Additionally, the Twitter app for iPad has received its own update to include features that have been previously implemented on the Twitter website and iPhone and Android apps. The company says the new iPad app has been rebuilt "from the ground up" to be faster and easier to use.

Twitter is currently in the process of rolling the updated profiles out, although some of the profiles that have already been updated include @todayshow, @BreakingNews and other media-related profiles.
