Two horror games are free to claim on the Epic Games Store this week

It"s the end of October, and the Epic Games Store is celebrating Halloween with a special giveaway of its own. Last week"s Fear the Spotlight offer has gone away, and to replace it, two games have landed for PC gamers to claim. These are Bendy and the Ink Machine and Five Nights at Freddy"s: Into the Pit. As always, you have seven days to add the games permanently to your Epic Games Store library.

From the duo, Bendy and the Ink Machine is an action-first-person horror game with a bizarre but nostalgic setting that involves classic cartoons coming to life. The title follows Henry, a retired animator who finds an ink machine producing living cartoon figures. The story unfolds via audio logs, notes, and otherworldly encounters.

"Explore as Henry as he revisits the old demons of his past by travelling deep into the abandoned animation workshop of Joey Drew Studios, a studio with a dark history," says the developer of Joey Drew Studios, describing the 2018-released experience. "Friends and foes will help or hinder your path as you unravel the great mystery of the studio. Whom can you trust? What horrors await your next encounter? Insanity is the name of the game down here."

Next, Five Nights at Freddy"s: Into the Pit is a pixel graphics adventure that takes players into the popular horror universe. The story has a boy, Oswald, jumping into a ball pit in an abandoned pizzeria and traveling to the past to witness horrors involving his own family.

"Survive five nights of terror in this chilling adventure game," the game description from developer Mega Cat Studios reads. "Travel between time periods, gather clues, and outrun the threat relentlessly pursuing you. Move swiftly and stay hidden, and you may just survive. But be careful—it’s not just your own life that’s on the line. Oswald’s father and children from the past could all meet their end if you don’t save them."

Bendy and the Ink Machine and Five Nights at Freddy"s: Into the Pit giveaways will end on November 6. On the same day, Felix the Reaper will become free.
