Ultima Online - Kingdom Reborn officially announced

As I reported a few days ago, Ultima Online is about to get revamped in full on isometric 3d-ish goodness. As several users noted there has been a "3d" version before, but this is a full on revamp of the graphics engine and frankly for Ultima Online it looks quite delicious. The new Kingdom Reborn (working title) client will have fully redone graphics, a brand new enhanced user interface and as I said last week, all the content of the past 9 (nine) years of Ultima Online.

The team from EA Mythic (formerly the boys from Mythic Entertainment) are working on the engine as we speak. Redoing over 9,000 pieces of art which make up over 14 million tiles for the gameworld. Kingdom Reborn is also a fully featured expansion pack as well, and will contain a ton of new content for seasoned veterans of the game. It will add a new playable race, and enhance the already deep gameplay features of the near decade old game.

Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn will ship for the PC in 2007.
