Downloading and installing Windows 11/10 updates is something easily done by most average users. However, enthusiasts, power users and IT admins do want more options such that they can configure new update installs and deployments per their wish. After all, configuring such settings can be crucial especially since new updates can be quite buggy, and hence, pushing one out irresponsibly can lead to widespread issues. That is where NTLite, an unofficial tool, can come in.
For those who may not know it, NTLite is a fairly comprehensive Windows customization and configuration tool that enables power users and administrators to tailor OS installations and deployments. It supports all major image formats including ISO, WIM, ESD, and SWM, offering conversions between them and the ability to create bootable ISOs. Other than that, NTLite also features editing of already deployed installs, such that modifications to live systems can be made without reinstallation. Its unattended setup options also allow automating installation with preconfigured accounts, partitions and more.
The latest couple of updates for NTLite released this month bring important improvements for the utility as it now supports more threads such that image extraction can be carried out much faster. Hence, this should lead to a notable performance improvement since multi-threaded processors nowadays are very common. Aside from that, the new update also brings AI component management feature for Windows 11 25H2 images. This can significantly lower the size of installations if you choose to strip out such features. Driver management also sees improvements.
