Last month, Microsoft announced the Lumia 735, the 4G version of the otherwise identical Lumia 730, and the device has already gone on sale in several markets around the world. The handset is popularly referred to as Microsoft"s "selfie phone" - due to the company"s focus on the quality of its front-facing camera.
Although not officially confirmed, the Lumia 735 is expected to launch on Verizon, but it looks like that won"t be happening for quite some time. Over on WPCentral, Daniel Rubino reports that multiple sources have verified that the carrier will not be launching the device until 2015.
The reason for this isn"t entirely clear; there have been some suggestions of "stability issues" with Verizon"s network, but this is far from certain. As Daniel points out, Verizon"s got form when it comes to tardy releases of Windows Phones.
He also notes that Verizon is likely to be the only carrier to offer the Lumia 735 in the United States, so holding off on its launch there until next year - after the all-important holiday season - would be less than desirable, especially for Microsoft.
