Watch Satya Nadella's first live webcast as Microsoft CEO today at 3 pm ET

Microsoft named its new CEO, Satya Nadella, earlier this morning and while the company has already released an internal video interview with him, he will also be appearing on a live webcast later today at 3 pm Eastern time (Noon Pacific time).

Microsoft"s official link to the webcast offers little information about what will be discussed, other than Nadella plans to specifically address "customers and partners" of the company during the event. Neowin contacted Microsoft to find out if Nadella will take questions from members of the press during the webcast but a company spokesperson told us they have "nothing additional to share" on that subject; we would guess that opportunity won"t present itself today but we will check in to see if it does in fact happen.

Nadella has already stated in an email to employees that Microsoft will push forward to revamp "a lot of what we have done in the past for a mobile and cloud-first world." It"s highly likely that he will use the webcast to emphasis that direction to Microsoft"s customers and partners. He also said under his leadership, the company will strive "to bring innovative products to our customers more quickly", which is something many critics of Microsoft feel it has not done in recent times.
