WD Elements 6TB 10TB external hard disk drives are quite good deals before Black Friday

Black Friday is not here yet, but some products are starting to go down in price or are already at their lowest-ever prices, like the Nakamichi Dragon variants as well as the Shockwafes.

If you are perhaps looking for an external hard disk drive to perhaps stream all the movies and other such content on a soundbar system like that, then Western Digital (WD) has its Elements portable 6TB model at its lowest price in over six months, making it a very good purchase (purchase links are towards the bottom of the article). Aside from that, the 10TB Elements desktop variant is also back to its lowest price.

Connecting the drive should be easy plug and play, it supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 but is also compatible with USB 2.0, though with the older standard you could get lower data transfer speeds. Speaking of which, the Elements Portable 6TB has a spindle speed of 5400 RPM, so expect speeds of up to 100-125 MB/s depending on the type of file. The 6TB model is based on SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) technology, and it is not recommended for constant or daily usage for very long hours.

For that, the 10TB model is the better option, as it is CMR (conventional magnetic recording)-based, and it is also faster with a 7200 RPM spin rate. WD notes that the WD Elements Portable model has an operating temperature of 5°C to 35°C and a storage temperature of –20°C to 65°C.
