WhatsApp's unified call menu streamlines conversations on iOS

WhatsApp 25.23.82 for iOS is now available in the App Store with a new unified call menu. This new feature replaces the separate voice and video call buttons with a single button for easier access. The redesign is being rolled out to some users and will become available for more people in the coming weeks. With the updated menu for iOS, the app now has a consistent feel across iOS and Android, following the feature’s release on Google’s mobile operating system before.

The new unified menu is available in chats with businesses. It replaces the old separate buttons to help users prevent accidental calls and requires users to confirm their choice between a voice call, video call, creating a link, or scheduling a call. By consolidating these options, the new menu makes it easier and quicker for users to manage calls with businesses. According to WABetaInfo, this feature isn’t available in individual chats to non-business accounts.

The new menu is also available in group chats, offering additional functionality. In group chats, users can pick the specific members with whom they want to start a call. This allows for starting a voice or video call with a subgroup, providing more control over who participates. The menu also gives users the options for creating a call link or scheduling a call.

The redesigned menu consolidates all call-related actions into one place, including giving users the option to create a call link and schedule a call directly from the conversation. This removes the need to navigate to the Calls tab to perform these actions and it makes for a more organized and better user experience. The feature is available now in WhatsApp 25.23.82 for iOS, if you don’t have it yet, you should get it soon.
