Windows 10's Your Phone app's notification sync feature rolls out to all Android users

Microsoft’s Your Phone app is beginning to become a major piece of the firm’s cross-platform efforts as it is continually being updated with features and abilities. The recent additions to the app include the ability to send and receive MMS messages, the option to directly save images to your PC and more. Another important feature that the firm has been testing with Windows Insiders is notification sync.

Today, the company’s director of program management and cross-device experiences, Vishnu Nath, shared on Twitter that the notification sync support for Android devices is now rolling out to the app in stages. For those who aren’t familiar with the feature, a dedicated ‘Notifications’ tab in the Your Phone app collates notifications received on your phone. Dismissing the notification from the PC should also dismiss the notification from the phone.

The company toyed with a similar feature in the past that enabled Windows Phone users to sync to their Windows 10 devices through Cortana. While the feature never caught on owing to the failure of the mobile platform, the current implementation through the Your Phone app might receive further improvements in the way of screen mirroring and continuing experiences from the phone to the PC (via Thurrott).

The notification sync feature is currently being rolled out in a staged manner and has been rolled out to 50% of the users as per Nath. Therefore, if you still do not see the feature, it shouldn’t be long till it shows up, since the roll-out is expected to be completed in a week. However, users must be on Windows 10 version 1803 or higher, running version 1.19052.657.0 of the Your Phone app or higher.
