Windows Insider Program gets 173,624 new members in first 24 hours after event

Just one day after the 21st Jan Windows 10 event that revealed a ton of info on what to expect from Microsoft"s vision of a unified Windows 10 for PCs and devices, Gabe Aul revealed via Twitter that 173,624 new members have signed up to the Windows Insider program, all - no doubt - in anticipation of next week"s Windows 10 preview release.

Welcome! To the 173,624 new #WindowsInsiders who signed up since our #Windows10 event yesterday!

This follows an earlier report that there have been 3 million Windows Technical Preview installations, from a total of over 1.7 million Insiders who have tried and tested the early bits of Windows 10, giving their opinion on 200,000 topics, with almost 800,000 pieces of feedback. Just over 450,000 Insiders are also said to be highly active within the program.

Gabe Aul, who heads up the Windows Insider Program, must be feeling pretty proud right about now, with the new signups going some way to prove that Microsoft is on the right track with this Windows release.
