Windows Messenger 5 Build 5.0.0292 Released

A new build of Windows Messenger 5 has been released to Betaplace for Greenwich RTC (Real-Time Communications) beta testers.

Along with this build Microsoft released the Release Candidate for their re-branded "Microsoft Office Real-Time Communications Server 2003".

The release notes state known issues for this current build such as:

  • Unexpected error if Outlook Express is open while upgrading Windows Messenger

  • Windows Messenger stops when using the correction tool for ink-to-text conversion

  • Busy status with a full screen application doesn"t work if there is a screen resolution change

  • Sender does not receive an error message when the sendee has set DisableCollaborationApps = 1

  • Data collaboration invitation does not go through

  • NetMeeting security settings need to be compatible

  • Application Sharing in a Terminal Server session

  • Windows Messenger is unable to exit

    The installer is 8.4 Megabytes in size.
