Windows Server 2012 Release Candidate download available

Microsoft has just gone live with the download links for Windows Server 2012 release candidate, the OS comes in two flavors, 64 bit ISO and VHD. This is the first Windows release candidate released today and we expect to see Windows 8 RC drop later this afternoon.

The ISO (available at the link below) comes in several languages Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish and the VHD comes in English only.

Microsoft states this about the next server release:

The next release of Windows Server, Windows Server 2012, will offer businesses and hosting providers a scalable, dynamic, and multitenant-aware, cloud-optimized infrastructure. It securely connects across premises and helps IT Professionals to respond to business needs faster and more efficiently.

As always, with any pre-release software, install at your own risk. The software is a preview of what the final version will offer but is not intended to replace your current OS on any production machine.
