Xbox 360 goes on sale in Israel and Argentina this month

The Xbox 360 made its debut in the US seven years ago this month, but Microsoft is still opening up new markets for its successful game console. This week, as part of the company"s Discovery conference in Tel Aviv, Microsoft announced that a localized version of the Xbox 360 would finally be released in Israel on November 21st.

Eurogamer reports that this version will support the country"s local currency, as well as its Hebrew language. There will be online Xbox Live support as well, although its currently not known if this version will have any streaming music or video services. It will support the Kinect add-on device.

Halo 4, the just launched sci-fi shooter, will apparently be one of the Xbox 360"s launch titles in Israel. An actor playing Master Chief came out on stage during the Discovery conference to announce this move, with "Master Chief" saying that those attending should not "waste your time on girly games and do the right thing."

The Next Web reports that the Xbox 360 will also make its official debut in Argentina later this month, with pre-orders already being taken in that country. Netflix support for the console in Argentina will be added as well.

The Xbox 360 has sold a total of 70 million units worldwide since it launched in November 2005. There is much speculation that the company will announce its successor in 2013, while earlier today it was revealed that Microsoft is also developing a 7-inch "Xbox Surface" gaming tablet.
