Xbox app for Android and iOS now lets you share screenshots and clips on social media

Microsoft has added a new capability to the Xbox app for Android and iOS that might please gamers who constantly post their activities to social media using a mobile device. The app now allows users to download game screenshots and clips onto their phone and share the media files on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites.

For iOS devices, the update bumps up the app"s version number to 1901.0129.1616 while the Android update comes in the form of version 1901.0131.0011. Here"s the full changelog:

  • Share game captures with friends. In response to your feedback, we’ve added the ability to share game captures with friends and across social media
  • Easily save to phone. Save your game clips and screenshots to your phone
  • From your Captures page, click the existing share button to view these new options

The latest release is available to download for everyone from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The Xbox app lets players connect with friends, control their Xbox One console, see their achievements and more.
