Xbox Live is currently experiencing matchmaking issues on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC

If you recently tried to enjoy some online multiplayer through Xbox Live and had issues joining a match, you aren"t the only one, as the service is currently experiencing interruptions. Upon checking the status page, it appears Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PCs are all experiencing issues which began roughly around 1:52 PM PST.

We fired up an Xbox One console for an online game of Call of Duty: Ghosts, and were unable to join any match; instead, we consistently saw an error informing us that the connection with Xbox Live servers had been dropped.

Just over a week ago Sony’s PSN experienced an outage which affected most of its online services. Unlike the service interruptions we saw back in December, these recent issues with both Sony’s and Microsoft’s services don’t appear to be the work of malicious hacking groups – just unexpected trouble.

Our teams are still on the case looking into issues with Xbox Live. Thanks for being patient and stay tuned for more info.

Microsoft"s Xbox support team has also acknowledged the issues on Twitter, but there"s no word yet on the cause, or when online matchmaking will be up to full speed again, but we will update this article as soon as we have more information.
