Xbox LIVE policy change, allows users to get more sexual

Microsoft has finally changed one of its much argued policies for Xbox LIVE, allowing users to express their sexual orientation in their gamertags and profiles.  Users have been previously suspended and banned from the Xbox LIVE service, because they would express their sexual orientation in their gamertag and profiles.

Microsoft has published an update to date Code of Conduct for Xbox LIVE, saying “You may use the following terms to express your relationship orientation in your profile or Gamertag: Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, or Straight.”

However, in regards to the changes, Microsoft said they will be heavily moderating abuse on Xbox LIVE to take action upon users who “insult, harass, or any other pejorative use against other users,” based on other users sexual orientation.  Microsoft recommends users take a break or mute players who make you angry.

Director of policy and enforcement on Xbox LIVE, Stephen Toulouse, has tweeted, “Special thanks to GLAAD and Microsoft"s LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans) community for guidance on the terms.”
