Sir Topham Hatt
Ages ago I read that the volume from the PC end should always be on full, then the speakers can be adjusted to the right level. Is this still a decent way? I'm sure it was something to do with getting 100% of sound from the source or something like that. I have some AudioEngine 5 bookshelf speakers, which have always been set at a low level, with the PC being on (or near) 100%. Should I just set the PC to 50% and then adjust the speaker level accordingly? On a similar note, if I have a dead cheap 3.5mm cable connecting the PC to the speakers (bought for less than £2), should I look at getting something a little more expensive? The current cable does okay and everything sounds fine, but I'm not sure if I bought a £10 cable then I'd get a better sound?
