External HDDs constantly go to sleep despite power settings (Win 10).

I never, ever had this issue for all the years I used Windows 7.  I have gone through every single power setting in windows and disabled any and all sleep or power down features for HDDs and USB Hubs and still they constantly go to sleep after roughly 5 minutes.

 

It's past the point of frustration and into anger territory, especially since I watch shows and movies from my drive all the time and I have keep dealing with ###### windows turning my drives off.

Just in case this is a regression from the bug that was fixed in Windows 8.1, have you tried the registry modification mentioned in https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/usbcoreblog/2013/10/31/help-after-installing-windows-8-1-my-usb-drive-disappears-or-file-transfers-stop-unexpectedly/?   If so, did that work for you?
