Hello everyone,

I've been visiting Neowin for the past 10 years or so and it's been a wonderful site. I have never really cared for the news posts, but the forums have been the best part from many websites on the internet.

From Rappy's posts on movies/tv shows, Hum's weird newsposts and other interesting discussions, it's been a great place.

As a thank you to Neowin, I wanted to giveaway 1 one-month subscriptions to Teamtreehouse.com that I recently got..

"Treehouse is the fastest, easiest way to learn to code, make apps, and start a business. Tutorials in CSS, HTML, Ruby, JavaScript, iOS, and more."

It has over 700+ videos teaching programming, design, business and many other things. You can view the videos and then also try the interactive coding simulators and you get badges as you progress further. I think in one month, if you're dedicated, you can complete many of the courses. They also help in connecting you with clients once you've completed the course. If you cannot complete the course, I think you can download all of the 700+ videos for later viewing and studying. It's a nice resource to learn from and gain some extra knowledge from basics to advanced.

Wow this sounds interesting. I was planning to start learning to code for android properly in the new year and I would love a shot at this if they have android information on there.

If not then just accept my thanks for making such an offer and give it to the next person(s) :)

They do have Android development content and they have ton's other resources. You can check it out here: http://teamtreehouse.com/library

You can also keep updated with their blog. They recently gave almost 7,500 students 2 year gold scholarships worth almost $10 million. (http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/6-million-treehouse-scholarship-for-students-worldwide)

It's good resource that's updated very frequently.

Here are some other cool websites to learn web-development and design too. Stuff ranges from iOS, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, Frameworks, and other things. Most of them can be advanced, but try it out when you are more comfortable. They do have some basic courses too.

The codeschool website also have certain free courses such as this really good one on version control in git. Version control is a very important skill to learn. This is a nice course that is gamified for much easier understanding.

Here are some online education websites that are more focused on tough and straight up computer science courses too. This is hardcore stuff such as Databases, data mining, machine learning, search engine dev, game dev, algorithms, and many other advanced concepts too.       Those people that come over here on boats are already in a safe country, if they want to come over here then do so correctly though the right channels. I was born in the U.K, my family that came over here came so via the proper means. My partner came here via the correct channels, she also became a British citizen, she knows more about this country than most of them that was born here, including myself, she worked hard to do what she does. She will stick up for this country and have done a few times, when people from her own part of world have put the U.K down. We are not going to agree, all I said to start with is that maybe Trump has the right idea with this America first thing and maybe we should start doing the same. Maybe not as drastic as what he is doing, but we do need to sort this country out, we need to sort out tech instead of relying on the U.S and others. Again you have not shown why you are so annoyed that we have left the E.U and this is what it is all about? If you don't live in the U.K and live in the E.U are you annoyed that we left your little club? If you live in the U.K and is pro-E.U, then fair enough then I can see how it annoys you. Are you one of these people who lives in the U.K and have a holiday chalet in the E.U and can now only stay there for so long? If so, then that is bad luck. As I have posted before, I have no problem with people coming here to work, as long as they do if via the proper channels. We are out of the E.U, people voted out, and maybe if more people had voted instead of sitting on their backsides the results would have been different. But they like the E.U and our government thought no we would not vote to leave. How wrong they were, surprised me. I expected to wake up in the morning and hear on the radio that we voted to stay. As I said, we are out and have been for 10 years, we are not going to go back in anytime soon if we ever do, so we all need to make the best of how things are. Anyway, this is supposed to be a tech site.

      Tim Cook: "The US over time began to stop having as many vocational kinds of skills." What's the point of wasting time getting those skills if you can't get a job with them? Good Lord, maybe he and his cohort of CEO's who exported all these jobs to China should just shut the f**k up :D
