Retro City Rampage Offers "Buy One Get Both" Deal

Recommended Posts

Retro City Rampage, the 8-bit homage to Grand Theft Auto (and just about every other game) will be available on both PS3 and Vita, soon.

However, it?ll also be part of Sony?s new ?buy one get both? deal, meaning if you buy it for PS3 you?ll get the Vita download for free. Or Vice (City) Versa.

According to the source, RCR will also make use of cross-save and cross-play features

Anyone else pick this up yesterday?

So far I just have it on my Vita, and I just checked it out for about 30 minutes, but so far it seems like a hilarious game. Already a TON of references to older games, when they say above it pays homage to just about every other game, I really think they were not kidding. I picked up on at least 10 references to classic games, and as I said, I only played about 30 minutes.

I will say, the visual style is a bit chaotic on the smaller screen of the Vita, it takes some time to get used to, so I am curious to see how it looks and plays on the PS3 as well. With that said, I did get used to it eventually, but at first I felt a bit overwhelmed, and actually I do think it is just the nature of the game itself, it is definitely chaotic.

Seems like an incredibly solid purchase though. Will be playing it more over the weekend I am sure.

I picked this up also (PC).

Really enjoying it so far. I agree it is a bit chaotic to start with. I had no idea what was going in. The story was jumping around and i didn't really grasp what happened. Next thing i knew i was

time travelling

. Loving the references, I've got quite a few so far.

Not released in the EU yet :( hoping to pick this up when it hits though to play about on the Vita. Loaded up another ?40 of PSN credit last night ready for some games. Looking forward to what PS+ brings to the Vita too

I have played a bit more of it, and really do enjoy it as it is the perfect game for a handheld. Silly little challenges like blow as much **** up with a rocket launcher in 45 seconds (or whatever the time limit is) but also has a little campaign if you want to follow it. Seems to be the perfect fit on the Vita. Driving is a little wonky, but one gets used to it.

Will definitely be picking this up on my Vita at some point (perhaps not right away though, since I'm still working through some other games). I'm in the mood for something a little less serious, and I have been hearing plenty of good things about this. Can't say that I plan on playing the PS3 version (this seems like something I would particularly enjoy on a handheld), but having cross-play and cross-saving is very, very cool. Nice to see that it's actually becoming an implemented feature, as opposed to some pie-in-the-sky idea from Sony.

It is definitely the best implementation of Cross Saving thus far as well. It works incredibly, incredibly smooth. You choose Cross Save, and you have 2 options, Save To The Cloud, Save From The Cloud, and it takes a matter of seconds. The great thing about this game as well is it is a save anywhere game, literally wherever you are at the time is where you come back to. Save on the map in front of the milk store, start your game right in front of the milk store.

It is a silly, silly game. Just need to make this terribly clear. As such though, it fits the Vita perfectly. I checked it out on the PS3, and it was enjoyable, but way more so on the Vita.

    • Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5102558, KB5095615 Setup and Recovery updates by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft released the newest preview update (C-release) under KB5095093. KB5095615: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 25H2: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). After installing this update, the WinRE version installed on the device should be 10.0.26100.8737." Microsoft notes that both the Recovery and Setup updates will be downloaded and installed automatically via the Windows Update channel.
