Esoteric
Get a keyboard with wires? Sorry, but do you really need wireless keyboards and mice these days, not really. The cords arent going to kill you. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/226261-wireless-keyboard-linux/#findComment-584676383 Share on other sites
kjordan2001
If it connects through USB, make sure you have USB boot compatibility or whatever it's called set in your BIOS. smp
I have the same problem and my standard microsoft wireless keyboard is plugged into the PS2 port ( this has happened with Debian and Gentoo attempted installs) 584773628[/snapback] this will happen with any distro as the console doesn't support usb keyboard that use there own protocol like m$'s ones via the usb port by if it goes through the ps/2 port it will use the ps/2 protocol Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/226261-wireless-keyboard-linux/#findComment-584837696 Share on other sites
Xe|oN
Ghostdraconi, you need to enable USB Legacy support in your BIOS. As for everyone else, you guys must not be loading some modules on startup. I run my Logitech Cordless MX Duo through USB and have no problems whatsoever at any stage of using my computer (Boot menu, console, X). I have used Microsoft USB keyboards and don't have any problems either. Here are the modules you'll need on a 2.6 Kernel: usbcore, usbhid, uhci_hcd, usbkbd, usbmouse For USB2 devices make sure you load the ehci_hcd module and for devices such as thumbdrives you'll need the usb_storage module. peekj
Should have gotten the logitech wireless keyboard and mouse combo. I have that and it works very well. Plus the mouse has a rechargable base, no batteries.
