You're wrong. Notice the fade in effect of the Google Envision logo. XP cannot do that on logon screens.

Got to agree because the similarity is simply damning - it's highly unlikely that Google would so exactly reproduce the Windows XP login paradigm with all it's failings e.g. it lets you know user names which in terms of security is a flaw to the point that in a corporate XP environment you get the old faithful login dialog.

Let me know when someone fakes the Google OS UI - that'll really be something to rip apart!

Looks just like a Windows XP bootup process with different screen. Or heck man use Powerpoint or Flash, I can easily do one :p

The "Google OS" isn't an OS at all.

If anything, Google's threat to Windows isn't from another OS, but from the marginalization of the OS.

god damn some people are stupid, google are nearly most definatly not making an OS as they are mainly a web research and development company not a solo software company like microsoft. they back open source projects so they dont need to make their own OS and software like microsoft has done with windows. Yes there probably is a google OS company compiled version of linux on there main campus but that dosent make it like it is much different to any other version of linux.

Bingo. You can emulate just about anything with a fullscreen Flash animation. Which is funny, because the logon screen still looks just like XP.

Some of the offices in Google actually use a modified Ubuntu... but Goobuntu (google search it...) is very far-fetched... though Google did help Ubuntu in the Summer of Code Project (or vice-versa, I forget)
