VLC Christmas Hat?

Changed in Windows 7 6956 too. When I saw it on the taskbar, I thought it was another bug, but then I noticed that the red thingy was a Christmas hat.

Hilarious, cuz that is also how I first noticed it as well. It sometimes is a little scary how close some of us pay such close attention to these little things and then the alarms go off in our heads screaming "oh no...spyware? virus? wtf is this?" lol

Instead of trying to be cute, maybe they should invest the resources to fix their goddamned program.

My system has frozen solid at least 5 times in the last two weeks while playing DVDs with VLC--the same DVDs play absolutely flawlessly with PowerDVD.

I've been a big believer in VLC for years, since everything (used to) "just work", but now I'm getting seriously fed up. None of the last couple of releases show any sign of improvement. Shoulda kept the older installers.
