leesmithg
Hello again. I gave my son my old PC and I refurbished it a bit, new DvD drive, used card reader new networking USB plugin. Cleaned fan, vacuum'ed inside etc, so it looked used like new. However I notice that even though I set the boot screen not to display it displays. I thought he did it, he denied it, so I set it back to no boot screen display and a few days later, it displays again and all setting in the bios went back to default. I think it's probably the battery starting to lose juice, my searches so far and 1 similar result say bios upgrade. Any ideas, I think battery. Thanks for comments in advance! i11usive
Yup - it's probably battery. Only costs a couple of quid, and is probably the best place to start. +Warwagon MVC Posted January 16, 2012 MVC Share Posted January 16, 2012 Yep Probably the battery, but I do have a Used Core 2 system in my office that won't safe the bios settings to safe it's life. Even with an new battery. So while most of the time it's the battery and you should try that first. It could also be the motherboard. goretsky Supervisor Posted January 17, 2012 Supervisor Share Posted January 17, 2012 Hello, I have had that happen, too, even with a fresh CR-2032 battery installed. The fix was to reflash the BIOS. leesmithg
Thought I would update this situation. Since batteries came, (3 days after this post) system (after removing old and installing new battery) has kept settings.
