UPDATEDWinXP ONLYRESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGSI wanted to share this with you guys because I know when I released a version of this forever ago some of you guys loved it. If you have any sugestions on tweaks I should add (registry tweaks that are DWORD values in the registry), feel free to sugest. If you have any sugestions on wording of these current tweaks or what categories they fall in, again, let me know.Btw, I added these options via the registry. Pretty easy stuff, but time consuming. All of the options Some of the tool tips Do know this... I do this because I have nothing better to do at work when I'm bored. I don't want to hear it if you think it sucks. If you don't like, keep it to yourself. Thanks So anywho, that should be it. In the attachment there's a reg file and a help file. Move the help file to your C:\WINDOWS\HELP directory to enable to tool tips.

If I were you I would check out Xteq X-Setup - you can find all of the latest tweaks that others have found and incorporate it into your little app here ;-0

I don't know what most of the options mean/do.
Would appreciate if a detailed writeup of the options to be released with it.

Quote - (johngalt @ Oct 21 2003, 21:16) If I were you I would check out Xteq X-Setup - you can find all of the latest tweaks that others have found and incorporate it into your little app here ;-0 Yeah... this is just something I do at work when things are boring. Right now I only have the ability to modify DWORD values. But oh well. Quote - (iron2000 @ Oct 22 2003, 03:43) I don't know what most of the options mean/do.
Would appreciate if a detailed writeup of the options to be released with it. Yeah, I've got the tooltips comming in the next "release". I added a few more options, changed the wording for some, fixed one of them (wasn't set right). Etc. Here's an excerpt from one of the tool tips: Quote - By default Windows creates one multi-threaded Explorer process which contains the Desktop, Taskbar and all other explorer instances. If one of these instances fails, all instances will fail. When enabled, this setting causes Windows to create separate processes insulating them from other failures.
User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer] Value Name: DesktopProcess Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value) Value Data: (1 = Separate Process, 0 = Default)
I go so far as to give the user information on the tweak so if they wanted to go in by hand and do it, they could (one thing I thought all tweaking apps I've tried have lacked).
