About the only thing you can do is clean the computer and disable any running apps that don't need to be running, but then that has NOTHING to do with the internet connection, for the most part.

they actually sell 5mbps plan, but the folks cant afford it anymore, so we have to suffer with 2mbps :/

From the time I spent in the Philippines, I'd be surprised if you'd get much benefit from the speed upgrade. Be thankful they've let you use what they have and save your pesos for the new place

IF the neighbors are wanting to let you use their internet, help them to pay for the service and see if they'll go for the fast speed. Otherwise, if they are suppose to be getting 5 MB and only 2 MB, let your neighbor know that they might need to make a call to their ISP to make sure if that everything is working right for them.

Otherwise, SOMETHING could be stealing slowing the speed too much on their internet.

na, they actually got the 2mb/s. but its too slow so i want to hack to make it 5 or even 10mb/s :)
